Kerala-based Malabar Group expects to generate an annual  turnover of ₹10,000 crore from its new manufacturing facility in Telangana.

Speaking at the launch here on Thursday Nishad AK, the company’s Group Executive Director said this facility is one of the largest factories of India. The unit has the capacity of processing 78 tonnes of gold annually. 

Now aligned with the Malabar Group’s goal to market ‘Make in India’ craftsmanship globally, this venture supports the company’s journey in progressing from the its sixth position among world’s largest jewelleries, with 400 showrooms in 13 countries.

The facility was inaugurated by the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Speaking at the occasion, State’s Minister for IT Duddilla Sridhar said, “Our government is committed to transforming Telangana into a trillion-dollar economy by 2035—this is not just a vision, but a resolute mission.”

Secondary sector growth

In FY 2023–24, Telangana’s secondary sector (comprising manufacturing, construction, electricity, gas, and water supply) recorded an impressive growth rate of 9.6 per cent, well above the national average of 8.3 per cent, he said.

“I strongly believe the newly inaugurated Malabar Manufacturing Unit will serve as a beacon for Telangana’s emergence as a manufacturing hub. I  also invite Malabar and other firms to explore setting up furniture manufacturing units in the State—we assure full support from the government. Lastly, I urge the Malabar Group and other industry leaders to partner with the Telangana government in skill development, so that our talented youth are equipped to lead the future of manufacturing,” he said.
