Hurun India 500: Karnataka cos record strong growth with ₹4.8 lakh crore in sales
Karnataka has made a strong impact in the 2024 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 list, which features 45 companies from the State, including 21 start-ups.
Infosys, Wipro, and Swiggy recorded gains in absolute value, with Infosys leading as the most valuable company from Karnataka. Kaynes Technology, Sobha, and Prestige Estates Project posted significant growth in value.
The total sales of Karnataka-based companies in the ranking stood at ₹4.8 lakh crore. Other key players from the State include Titan Company, Zerodha, Razorpay, Page Industries, Tata Elxsi, Biocon, Dailyhunt, Ola Electric, CRED, and Meesho, among others.
Nationally, the services industry emerged as the biggest value creator, led by Motilal Oswal Financial Services, which saw a remarkable 297 per cent surge in value. Motilal was closely followed by Inox Wind and Zepto, which tripled their valuations over the year.
Reliance Industries is India’s most valuable company, followed by Tata Consultancy Services at ₹16.1 lakh crore, up 30 per cent, and HDFC Bank at ₹14.2 lakh crore, up 26 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Tata Group retained its dominance with 15 companies, holding a combined value of ₹32 lakh crore, accounting for 10 per cent of the total value of India’s 500 most valuable companies.
