Narayana Health expands in East India, lays foundation for fifth hospital in the region


Narayana Health on Thursday laid the foundation stone for its fifth hospital in East India, further strengthening its presence in eastern India. Apart from Kolkata, it has presence in Howrah, Barasat, Raipur, Guwahati, and Jamshedpur.

The upcoming facility will span 10 lakh sq feet and house 1,100 beds, and with this, Narayana Health now has a total of 7,350 beds.

The hospital will offer multiple specialties, including oncology, cardiac sciences, organ transplants, orthopedics, advanced trauma care, neurology, gastroenterology, renal sciences, and critical care. Beyond specialised treatment, the hospital will also strengthen Kolkata’s critical care and emergency response capabilities, ensuring better access to life-saving interventions, it said.

Recently, Narayana Health had launched its second insurance product ‘Arya,’ aimed at bridging gaps in the health insurance industry which will cover claims ranging from ₹25 lakh to ₹1 crore, with flexible top-up options starting at ₹25,000.  The healthcare player recorded a 2.6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit, rising to ₹192.9 crore for the third quarter of FY25. Revenue from operations stood at ₹1,366.6 crore, up by 13.5 per cent from ₹1,203.7 crore in Q3FY24 driven by strong realisation growth.
