Aarthi Ramamurthy launches own venture capital firm Schema with a $20 million debut fund

Silicon Valley technologist and podcaster Aarthi Ramamurthy has launched her new venture capital firm, Schema, as a solo General Partner with a $20 million first fund.
“I moved to San Francisco, built two start-ups, and shipped products at Microsoft, Netflix, and Meta. My story is figuring it out without a roadmap, (this) is the blueprint for Schema,” she said in an official LinkedIn post.
“Schema backs exceptional outsiders: early-stage founders building from lived experience, not from pedigree or proximity. Sometimes there’s no pitch deck yet, no co-founder, no capital — just conviction and technical insight. That’s where we come in,” it said.
The firm will focus on the early stage investments across industrial software which includes robotics and intelligence for factories, construction, and logistics, workflow intelligence and developer tools and infrastructure.
Ramamurthy spoke about Schema at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women International Summit in Riyadh. She has previously worked at Microsoft, Netflix, and Facebook and is widely known for co-hosting “The Aarthi and Sriram Show” an online podcast with her husband Sriram Krishnan since 2020.
