Eaton Corporation begins work on ₹200 cr facility in Chennai
US-based Eaton Corporation, a power management company specialising in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical products and services, broke ground on Friday for its ₹200 crore facility in Sholinganallur, Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin kickstarted the works for the project, which follows a memorandum of understanding signed between Eaton and the State government six months ago.
The MoU was formalised in September 2024 during Stalin’s visit to the US, where he was accompanied by Industries Minister TRB Rajaa and other officials.
Spanning 1 lakh sq ft, the upcoming facility is expected to create 500 jobs, according to an official release.
Eaton said the Sholinganallur expansion will support its Crouse-Hinds and B-Line business, which focuses on developing sustainable and innovative power management solutions in India. These solutions address critical energy challenges in harsh and hazardous environments.
The expanded facility will enhance Eaton’s expertise in digitalisation, electrification, and energy transition, aligning with the company’s global commitment to sustainability and innovation, the company said in an earlier statement.
