Glenmark Consumer Care incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary
Drugmaker Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited has said that a wholly-owned subsidiary Glenmark Consumer Care Limited has been incorporated, to manufacture and market its pharmaceutical and consumer care products.
Several drugmakers, domestic and multinational, have adopted similar strategies, including Cipla, and Sanofi, to name a few.
Glenmark’s consumer care operations were in the news earlier this year, when it retrenched over 100 personnel across the country.
The sales personnel were from the said division being reviewed for “future-proofing” the business, an industry source had then said.
“Glenmark continuously evaluates its global business operations to enhance efficiency and maintain competitiveness in an evolving market. As part of this disciplined approach, with the objective of optimizing resources and ensuring long-term operational sustainability, some roles have become redundant,” a company spokesperson had then said, responding to a businessline query.
