Godrej Enterprises ‘locks in’ South for growth, says Division Head

Shyam Motwani, Business Head, Locks & Architectural Solutions.
Godrej Enterprises Group’s Locks & Architectural Solutions division is planning to deepen its presence in southern India, a region that currently contributes a quarter of its overall revenue. The company closed FY25 with revenues of ₹1,200 crore and anticipates significant growth from smaller towns in the South.
“South contributes one-fourth of our revenue, with Bengaluru and Hyderabad being our biggest markets, along with strong demand from Chennai, Coimbatore, and Kochi,” said Shyam Motwani, Business Head – Locks & Architectural Solutions. “We are going deeper into these markets to continue driving share, especially in tier-two and tier-three towns.”
The company has set a target of ₹2,500 crore in revenue by FY28. In addition, he anticipates the exports to grow, which currently account for 3 per cent of the division’s revenues. Motwani expects this to rise to at least 10 per cent in the medium term (3–5 years). “I don’t think there is any major upheaval in our categories, despite what is happening globally. We don’t see any immediate impact on our exports. We expect revenues to only continue rising in the coming years,” he noted.
Notable increase in demand
The divisionis also observing a notable increase in demand from rurban markets. While the top eight cities once contributed nearly 85–90 per cent of revenues five to six years ago, around 25 per cent now comes from tier-two, tier-three, and tier-four towns.
E-commerce has emerged as another strong growth driver. “E-commerce grew nearly 100 per cent last year and contributed around 3 per cent of our revenues in FY25. We expect this to double in FY26 and again in FY27,” Motwani added. The company projects that e-commerce will contribute at least 10 per cent of overall revenues in the next three to four years.
