Godrej Industries Limited’s chemical business will invest ₹750 crore in capacity expansion, as part of its strategy to become a $1 billion global business by 2030. 

The company on Thursday announced that it will double its Fatty Alcohol and Euric Acid capacities, adding 35,000 tons per annum and 20,000 tons per annum, respectively. Further, the company has tripled its specialities capacity, adding 21,000 tons per annum, while the glycerine capacity will be doubled, adding 24,000 tons per annum. 

The fermentation capacity will also triple with the addition of 1,500 tons per annum. It plans to increase the Primary Surfactants capacity by 30,000 tons per annum. To support the company’s sustainable operations, it will enhance its hybrid power capabilities, thereby increasing renewable energy usage to 75 per cent.
