Godrej’s Energy Solutions business targets ₹2000 crore revenue by 2028


Godrej Enterprises Group’s Energy Solutions business is eyeing a revenue of ₹2,000 crore by 2028, according to a top official. its order book is currently at ₹2,400 crore driven by projects in the transmission sector.

Focussing on domestic orders, the business has commissioned over 80 substations and laid over 300 km of transmission lines up to 765kV.

“The focus areas of the business will be renewables, railways and power infrastructure to build substations and transmission lines. We are projecting the order bank to grow 30 per cent year-on-year. We see the underground cabling as a big opportunity,” said Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President & Business Head of the energy Solutions business of Godrej Enterprises Group in a media roundtable.

The business completed the electrical works for Mumbai’s underground metro project and is executing a greenfield 765kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) project spanning across Rajasthan and Haryana and a greenfield 765/400kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) project in Maharashtra.

“The projects are crucial for green power evacuation across Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Haryana that will contribute to the country’s renewable energy infrastructure,” the company stated.

International business

The energy solutions business is looking to expand its international presence in South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.

“In Nepal, we are executing a project for the power utility authority and are building capabilities in the country. We will build the overseas portfolio step by step starting from countries that have similar voltage systems and where the government of India has already built power infrastructure. We see a lot of opportunities in India in the next 4 to 5 years,” added Mirji.
