Indofast, Green Tiger launch EV retrofit kits for petrol two-wheelers

 This collaboration enables riders to convert popular petrol scooters from brands like Hero, Honda, and TVS into electric vehicles using swappable batteries, complete with RTO approvals and EMI options. 

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) player Indofast Energy has partnered with 2W battery retrofit player Green Tiger Mobility to allow riders to transition from petrol to electric by retrofitting their existing two-wheelers with ARAI-approved conversion solutions.

The offering is available in Bangalore and will be launched in Delhi- NCR by May and in the rest of the country in 12 to 15 months.

Indofast Energy, a 50-50 joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility, operates more than 900 battery swap stations nationwide, aiming to accelerate EV adoption through its Battery-as-a-Service model. Green Tiger Mobility is a Mumbai-based retrofit innovator offering hybrid and electric conversion solutions for two-wheelers.

The offering includes RTO approvals, insurance, and other regulatory requirements at a fixed cost. Additionally, riders can convert their vehicle with a down payment and pay the remaining amount through EMIs.

Currently, the offering is available for the top 11 highest-selling 2W scooter models from Hero, Honda, Suzuki, TVS and Yamaha.
