JBM Ecolife Mobility gets ₹5,500-cr order to supply 1,021 electric buses


JBM Ecolife Mobility, a subsidiary of JBM Auto, has secured an order worth ₹5,500 crore to supply 1,021 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 initiative.

The buses will be deployed in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Haryana.

Under this tender, JBM Ecolife Mobility will be responsible for the end-to-end execution. The project will be supported by a payment security mechanism, ensuring timely payments to electric bus operators and enhancing financial sustainability for industry stakeholders.

The e-buses will clock over 32 billion passenger e-km and will save over 1 billion CO2 emissions over 12 years of deployment.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, JBM Auto said the significant order strengthens the company’s commitment to provide technologically-advanced public mobility solutions. With a strong focus on innovation and infrastructure development, JBM is dedicated to making electric mobility more accessible, efficient and environment friendly, he added.

Over the next 3-4 years, the company envisions serving over 20 billion passengers and covering 3 billion e-km, ensuring safe and reliable travel experiences.

JBM Auto has already deployed around 2,000 electric buses across India, Europe, West Asia and Africa. With this order, the company has secured an order book of over 11,000 electric buses in various stages of execution. Additionally, JBM has established the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility (outside China), in the Delhi-NCR region, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.
