L&T wins its largest ever contract ₹15,000 cr from QatarEnergy LNG

Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) hydrocarbon business has won its largest ever contract, an ultra-mega order worth ₹15,000 crore from QatarEnergy LNG. The contract has been awarded for QatarEnergy’s North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Project.

The scope of work encompasses the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of two offshore compression complexes, each comprising large offshore platforms with compression & power generation facilities, living quarters, flare platforms, interconnected bridges, and other associated structures. The project will be located 80 km off the northeast coast of Qatar.

“Securing QatarEnergy LNG’s Ultra Mega Offshore Contract—the largest single order in our history is a landmark achievement. This project strengthens our global energy portfolio while supporting Qatar’s energy security objectives. We look forward to setting new benchmarks in project execution that will reinforce Qatar’s position as a global LNG leader,” said S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman & Managing Director.

L&T International orders accounted for more than half of the inflows for the quarter that ended in December and were 42 per cent of the total outstanding order book.

“L&T will not only surpass its consolidated order inflow guidance of 10 per cent Year-on-Year for FY25 comfortably but is likely to surpass our FY25E consol. inflow est. of ₹3.45 tn, implying 14 per cent growth. L&T has already disclosed ~ ₹350 bn crore orders on exchanges for Q4FY25 and the Qatar contract of ₹350 bn, places them in a comfortable position to surpass our est. of ₹600 bn for Q4 core order inflow,” said Axis Capital.
