LTIMindtree announced on Friday that CEO and Managing Director Debashis Chatterjee has opted for early retirement due to personal reasons, effective at the close of business on May 30, 2025. The company’s board has appointed Venu Lambu as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, taking charge from May 31, 2025.

The shares of LTIMindtree Limited ended on Friday at ₹5,056 down by ₹72.20 or 1.41 per cent on the NSE.

Chatterjee’s term was originally scheduled to run until November 13, 2025. The board accepted his retirement request during a meeting held on Friday, which lasted from 2:15 p.m. to 2:40 p.m.

Lambu, who was serving as CEO Designate, brings over 30 years of experience in the technology and services industry. He previously led LTIMindtree’s global markets from October 2020 to January 2023, delivering profitable growth. Chatterjee, known as “DC,” led Mindtree from 2019 until the merger with L&T Infotech in November 2022, after which he headed the combined entity. Under his leadership, LTIMindtree became India’s sixth-largest IT services firm by revenue.

Chairman SN Subrahmanyan praised Chatterjee’s contributions, noting his role in propelling the company to new heights. Chatterjee expressed confidence that LTIMindtree would continue to thrive under Lambu’s leadership.

The leadership transition has been planned to ensure seamless continuity at the global technology consulting company, which serves over 700 clients with 84,000+ employees across 40 countries.
