NephroPlus expands in Philippines with acquisition of seven dialysis centres

Dialysis network NephroPlus has acquired seven new dialysis clinics in the Philippines, bolstering its position in the region, for an undisclosed amount.

With this expansion, NephroPlus operates 36 clinics in the Philippines, serving nearly 2,000 patients, it said.

The acquisition is part of NephroPlus’s international strategy, following its recent entry into Saudi Arabia through a joint venture agreement. The company now operates in five countries, positioning itself as a global service provider in specialized dialysis care.

The network aims to drive change through technology-enabled remote monitoring, clinical data analytics, and publishing outcomes in international forums, it said. It has made investments to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes in the Philippines, it added. “These investments have generated approximately 400 jobs across clinical and operational roles. Additionally, plans are underway to establish a training academy for dialysis nurses and technicians,” a note from the network said.

Vikram Vuppala, NephroPlus founder and CEO, said, “The Philippines, with its $200 million dialysis market and increasing incidence of chronic kidney disease, offers a compelling opportunity.” The network has operations in over 300 cities worldwide and 500 dialysis clinics, besides serving over 32,000 patients monthly, it said.
