NSE/BSE, Top Gainers & Top Losers Today 16 Apr 2025: IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Adani Ports, L&T, Infosys
Benchmark indices extended their winning streak for the third consecutive session on Wednesday, with the banking sector driving most of the gains as positive domestic cues outweighed global trade uncertainties.
The BSE Sensex gained 309.40 points or 0.40 per cent to close at 77,044.29, near the day’s high of 77,110.23. The NSE Nifty 50 rose by 108.65 points or 0.47 per cent to end at 23,437.20.
After trading within a narrow range for most of the session, buying momentum picked up in the final hours of trading, pushing the index above the key 23,400 level and helping it close near the day’s high.
Top Gainers
IndusInd Bank led the rally, jumping 7.12 per cent to ₹788.25, fuelled by strong quarterly business updates and sector-wide optimism.
Axis Bank continued its upward trajectory, rising 4.26 per cent to ₹1,161.55.
Adani Ports gained 1.81 per cent to close at ₹1,232.75, backed by sustained operational performance.
Asian Paints advanced 1.75 per cent to ₹2,459.35, while Bharti Airtel added 1.35 per cent to end at ₹1,823.00.
Top Losers
Maruti Suzuki was the biggest laggard of the day, slipping 1.59 per cent to ₹11,664.25 amid weak delivery data.
Infosys fell 1.00 per cent to ₹1,413.00, extending losses post earnings.
Bajaj Finance declined 0.96 per cent to ₹9,054.85, while Tata Motors dropped 0.92 per cent to ₹616.10.
L&T closed 0.90 per cent lower at ₹3,228.15, snapping its recent positive run.
