Petronet LNG net profit down 27% at ₹867 ccr in Q3


State-run Petronet LNG on Monday reported a 27 per cent Y-o-Y decline in its consolidated net profit at ₹867 crore during the October-December quarter in the current financial year. On a sequential basis, the profits rose by 2 per cent.

The country’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) importer reported a consolidated total income of ₹12,423 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to ₹13,226 crore in Q2 FY125 and ₹14,904 crore in Q3 FY24.

The company reported total consolidated expenses of ₹11,255 crore in Q3 FY25 against ₹12,084 crore in Q2 FY25 and ₹13,307 crore in Q3 FY24.

During the December quarter in FY25, the Dahej terminal processed 213 trillion British thermal units (tBtu) of LNG as against 218 TBTU during Q3 FY24 and 225 TBTU during Q2 FY25.

LNG volume upo

The overall LNG volume processed by the company in Q3 FY25 stood at 228 TBTU, as against the LNG volume processed in the corresponding and previous quarters, which stood at 232 TBTU and 239 TBTU, respectively.

The financial performance of Q3 FY25 and nine months was achieved due to efficiency in operations and higher capacity utilization of the Dahej Terminal, Petronet LNG said.

The growth in overall volume throughput and volume throughput at Dahej Terminal during 9M FY25 was 6 per cent Y-o-Y. The company also achieved the highest ever volume throughput of 43 TBTU at its Kochi Terminal during the same nine month period.

During the nine months ended December 31, 2024, its Dahej terminal processed the highest ever LNG volume of 686 TBTU as against 646 TBTU during Q3 FY24.

The overall highest ever LNG volume processed by the company in the current nine months was 729 TBTU, as against the LNG volume processed in the corresponding nine months, which stood at 685 TBTU.
