Refex Green Power wins ₹65.07-crore contract for Bio-CNG plant in Salem


Refex Green Power Ltd (RGPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Refex Industries, has secured a major contract worth ₹65.07 crore for the establishment of a 200 tonnes per day (TPD) municipal solid waste-based Bio-CNG plant in Salem.

The project, awarded by the Salem City Municipal Corporation under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0, will be executed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model. The contract has a tenure of 20 years, said a company statement.

LoA received

According to the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issued on March 28, and received by RGPL on April 1, the project is expected to be commissioned within 19 months from the date of signing the Concession Agreement, which is set to be finalised within 30 days of the LoA issuance.

The initiative is a part of Salem Corporation’s efforts to enhance solid waste management and promote sustainable energy solutions. The Bio-CNG plant is expected to contribute to cleaner urban waste disposal while generating renewable energy.

The company’s scrip closed at ₹655 per share, up 6.70 cent, on the BSE on Wednesday.
