Speed meets tech: Quick commerce fuels electronics delivery boom


Once focused on groceries and essentials, quick commerce platforms – Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart – are now betting big on electronics. The latest push includes high-value electronics such as laptops, tablets and accessories, marking a significant shift in their business strategy.

Consumer expectations for speed, convenience and reliability are pushing platforms to redefine their supply chains to handle electronics. The platforms have onboarded major brands – Lenovo, Asus, Acer and others over the past few months.

Recently, HP announced a partnership with Blinkit to sell laptops, monitors, printers, and other accessories on the platform. While Acer has listed a limited range of its offerings, including laptops on platforms like Flipkart Minutes and Zepto in select locations.

“Since the iPhone 16 series’ launch, we’ve added vivo, Samsung, Motorola, intel, Lava, POCO, and Redmi — many of which went live this Republic Day. And there’s more on the way. Tablets hit the platform on December 28, and the response has been incredible. Lenovo leads the line up, and users aren’t just buying tablets—they’re bundling them with headphones, covers, even milk and eggs for breakfast, or instant noodles at midnight. No surprises — Bengaluru is leading the charge, fully embracing tech-on-demand. We’re also working on more payment flexibility for high-ticket gadgets. Expect more updates soon,” said Abhimanyu Singh Business Head, Electronics, Zepto.

Players and platforms

Quick commerce is growing exponentially and platforms are naturally moving beyond essentials to include high-value categories like electronics, said Dinesh Nair, Director of Consumer Business, Lenovo India.

“Accessories are an easy entry point — it’s impulse-driven. But we’re also seeing strong traction for tablets and monitors, which was unexpected but encouraging, said Nair.

ASUS has introduced a curated selection of accessories on Zepto, including six SKUs of keyboards and mice – including the Marshmallow Keyboard & Mouse, the MW203 Multi-Device Wireless Silent Mouse, and the WT300 Mouse.

“In the near future, we are also planning to expand our line up on these channels to include our laptops as well as look at partnering with more quick commerce platforms such as Blinkit and Instamart,” said Arnold Su, VP, Consumer and Gaming, ASUS.

This move is aimed at driving up average order values (AOVs), which in turn fuels margin improvements for these platforms.

“We are launching smartphones soon under the Acer brand loaded with features at an exciting launch price for Indian consumers,” said Anand Dubey, CEO of Indkal Technologies.

Quick commerce companies are expected to expand into more premium categories, including gaming laptops, smart home devices, and personal gadgets, noted experts. The companies are of the view that quick commerce players with strong execution will be able to drive sales, as demand for high-value electronics on quick commerce continues to rise.
