Thailand-based hotel chain Dusit International willĀ launch hotels under luxury and upper midscale brands in India, the company said on Thursday.

Dusit International re-entered the India market with the launch of its upscale DusitD2 hotel in Fagu, near Shimla last December. The company has signed three more properties in Karnataka.

6 new hotels

On Thursday, it announced plans to launch six new hotels under its upper midscale brand Dusit Princess in Bhiwadi, Kolkata, Lonavla and Raipur. Two properties will be launched under Dusit Collection brand in Kasol and Manali in Himachal Pradesh.

ā€œIndia represents an exceptional growth opportunity for Dusit across major metros and particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, where premium hospitality options remain limited despite strong demand,ā€ said Siraj Donavanik, Vice-President, Development (Global), Dusit International.Ā 

Dusit International entered India in 2010 and managed the Dusit Devarana hotel in DelhiĀ in partnership with the Bird Group. The two companies ended their joint venture in 2016.
