US tariffs: Tyre makers closely observing developments 

The Indian tyre industry is closely monitoring developments related to the US tariff scenario though it is slightly premature to assess the same, according to Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA).

“As a responsible global player, we believe in fair trade practices and a level playing field for all stakeholders”, said Arun Mammen, Chairman ATMA:

Indian tyre exports to the US have grown steadily over the years, driven by globally benchmarked manufacturing practices, a strong emphasis on quality, and adherence to regulatory standards. Any imposition of restrictive measures could disrupt existing supply chains and affect consumer choices in the US market, he said.

However, the Indian tyre industry remains resilient and committed to diversifying its export destinations.

“We also urge policymakers to consider the long-standing trade relationship between India and the US, and to resolve any issues through dialogue and cooperation. The Indian tyre industry, supported by robust domestic manufacturing and innovation, remains focused on delivering value and sustainability across global markets”, he said.
