WABAG bags  million O&M contract for wastewater treatment at Bahrain’s BAPCO Refinery


VA TECH WABAG (WABAG), a leading player in the water technology space, has secured a seven-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract worth $14 million (about â‚ą121 crore) from BAPCO Refining B.S.C.

The contract covers the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) at the BAPCO Refinery in the Kingdom of Bahrain, according to a statement.

The IWTP can treat 4,400 US gallons of wastewater per minute using Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology. This ensures the water meets strict environmental and industrial standards. With this new contract, WABAG strengthens its presence in Bahrain, where it has been managing the 40 MLD Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant since November 2018.

“This order win is a testament to our technological excellence and our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class water solutions to the oil and gas sector globally,” Srinivasan K, General Manager – Middle East Regional Headquarters (RHQ) at WABAG, said.

This deal helps WABAG strengthen its presence in the Middle East and its leadership in water treatment within the oil and gas industry.
