Zomato says recieved MCA approval for name change to Eternal

Zomato on Thursday said that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has approved its rebranding from “Zomato Limited” to “Eternal Limited”, with effect from March 20. Earlier this month it had also got the shareholder approval.

In a BSE filing, it said , “The name of the Company, thus, stands amended to “Eternal Limited” with effect from March 20, 2025, and the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company stands altered to the extent of the change of name of the Company.”

Eternal comprises of four major businesses – Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure

The company had earlier said this rebranding is in line with its strategy to move beyond food delievery. In his letter to shareholders, Deepinder Goyal, Founder & CEO, Zomato had in February shared that internally the company has been using the brand name“ Eternal” instead of Zomato post the acquisition of Blinkit to distinguish it from the food delivery app.

“We also thought that we would publicly rename the company to Eternal, the day something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of our future. Today, with Blinkit, I feel we are there. We would like to rename Zomato Ltd., the company (not the brand/app), to Eternal Ltd,” he stated.
