Baldota Group to set up steel plant in Koppal


Karnataka based Baldota Group is is investing ₹54,000 crore to set up an integrated steel plant with a production capacity of 10.50 million tons per annum in Koppal taluk, Karnataka.

The company will sign a Memorandum of Agreement in the Global Investors’ Meet on February 11, in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, according to a statement by the company.

“The new steel plant will be established under the name Baldota Steel and Power Limited (BSPL) in Koppal. The project will significantly boost steel production in Karnataka and generate large-scale employment opportunities to locals,” said Rahul Kumar Baldota, Joint Managing Director of Baldota Group.

The group has presence in mineral exploration, mining, industrial gases, pellet production, wind power, shipping, waste treatment products and its also operating iron ore mines in Karnataka.

The company has planted 2 million trees and has adopted 20 villages under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, contributing to education, healthcare camps, sanitation, and women empowerment in rural areas.

Invest Karnataka 2025, the state’s flagship Global Investors’ Meet (GIM), will be held from February 12-14. The event will witness the announcement of a 200-acre Startup Park near Hubballi Airport which would have the capacity to house about 400 startups. A 1,200-acre Solar Cell Manufacturing and Agro-Tech Park will come up in Tidagundi, Vijayapura district.
