Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical’s Q4 net profit down 68%


Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) recorded a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹363 crore during the fourth quarter of 2024-25 against a PAT of ₹1,137 crore in the corresponding period of 2023-24, registering a decline of 68.07 per cent.

The board of the company, which met on Saturday, approved it’s standalone and consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter of 2024-25) and the fiscal 2024-25.

Total revenue from operations of MRPL stood at ₹27,601 crore during the Q4 of 2024-25 (₹29,190 crore in Q4 of 2023-24). Its total export was at ₹11,378 crore (₹9,116 crore).

During the quarter, the gross refining margin (GRM) of the refinery stood at $6.23 a barrel ($11.35 a barrel). GRM is the difference between the price of crude oil and end products.

The total throughput of the refinery stood at 4.64 million tonnes during the fourth quarter of 2024-25 (4.60 mt).

FY 2024-25

The company recorded a PAT of ₹51 crore during 2024-25 against a PAT of ₹3,596 crore, registering a decline of 98.58 per cent.

Total revenue from operations of MRPL stood at ₹₹1,09,277 crore during 2024-25 (₹1,05,223 crore in 2023-24). Its total export was at ₹36,466 crore (₹32,519 crore).

GRM of the refinery stood at $4.45 a barrel during 2024-25 ($10.36 a barrel). The refinery achieved highest ever throughput of 18.18 mt during 2024-25 (16.59 mt).

MRPL opened 66 new retail outlets during 2024-25 taking the total number of outlets to 167. The company commissioned the Devangonthi marketing terminal in Bengaluru during the year, and commenced dispatch of motor spirit, high speed diesel and aviation turbine fuel from this terminal.
