Nolte Küchen plans 25 showrooms in India this year

Nolte Küchen, the popular Germankitchen brand, has proposed to expand in the Indian market by opening 25 showrooms by the end of the year. The company currently has 14 outlets across the country.

Selvakumar Rajulu, Managing Director of Nolte FZE, said that Nolte Küchen, the global leader in kitchen and interior solutions, is setting up its flagship store in Mumbai by September.

Speaking to businessline on the side-lines of the opening of the company’s first experience centre in Kochi, Rajulu said the market size of kitchen accessories segment in India is estimated at $4.5 billion and is growing at a CAGR of 15 per cent. The demand for modular kitchen and tailored utility spaces are on the rise. “We are targeting only the top segment of the market as we are coming at a different base level and are working on a very niche market segment,” he said.

“We are present in India for almost 15 years and is now directly dealing with partners,” he said adding that the company is also looking at both retail and project business.

On the market slowdown, he said there has always been ups and downs and the company is bullish overall in the mid to long term. On the Kerala market, he went on to add that it is very matured, thanks to the huge NRI presence who have awareness about the brand compared to any others.

Nolte’s India operations are looked after from the fully integrated competence centre in Dubai with a daily production of 1,300-1,500 kitchens. It caters to the markets of over 25 countries across the Middle East, South Asia and the Far East.
