Reliance Retail’s Q4 net up 29% on growth across categories

Reliance Retail reported a 29 per cent rise in profit after tax at ₹3,545 crore for the quarter that ended on March 31. The business registered a 15.7 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue during the quarter with ₹88,620 crore.

During the quarter, the EBITDA was at 14 per cent. In FY25, the retail business was soft in H1 with elections and the monsoon season. The business saw a recovery in H2, fuelled by festive demand. There were pockets of urban and rural demand that are yet to fully recover.

During the year, 2,659 stores were opened, while 1,085 stores opened during the quarter with transactions up 16.1 per cent year-on-year. Reliance Retail has been undertaking a rationalisation of its stores and ended the year with a total store count of 19,340 spread over 77.4 msf.

“In FY25, the business focused on a strategic recalibration of our store network, aimed at improving operational efficiencies and long-term sustainability. Our enhanced product catalogue and user experience across all formats strengthened customer engagement. The quick hyperlocal deliveries initiative has also gained significant traction in the market, connecting strongly with the users. Our suite of omnichannel offerings and widespread presence will enable Reliance Retail to continue delivering superior value to all its customers,” said Mukesh D Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries Ltd.

Reliance Retail stated that the consumer brands are the fastest-growing FMCG business and achieved ₹11,450 crore sales.

Digital commerce and new commerce contributed 18 per cent to the total revenue. The business also expanded its quick commerce and hyper-local deliveries to over 4,000 pin codes in Jio Mart.

The consumer brands delivered a ₹11,450 crore revenue in FY25. Campa-Cola delivered a double-digit market share. The business launched its sports drink ‘Spinner’ and acquired personal care brand ‘Velvette’ during the quarter.

Export business

Reliance Retail stated that it is looking at markets in the Middle East and Asia.

“We have started to look at exports to other markets and set up distribution to the international market,” stated Reliance Retail.
